As the incoming IPMA President, I am thrilled to invite our members to attend the 2019 IPMA Annual Meeting taking place October 24 – 26, 2019 at the Renaissance, Schaumburg. You will not want to miss this year’s meeting!
This year’s conference theme is “Podiatry Means Business.” As you know, there are many facets that contribute to a successful career in podiatry. This year’s IPMA Annual Meeting will touch on many, including practice management, scientific lectures and panels covering a wide array of topics from wound care to complex surgery (and everything in-between), hands-on labs, surgical cadaver demonstrations, and an opportunity to meet the Illinois state requirements in sexual harassment and opioid training. For the first time, we are offering a board review track at our annual meeting to help those preparing for the ABFAS and ABPM exams or looking to brush up for recertification. Attendees can attend one session in the track that interests them or attend the entire course throughout the three days of the conference.
New this year – a keynote speaker. We are excited to be hosting Jon Taffer, who, with his business knowledge, will offer a unique perspective to help you develop a successful practice and build a prosperous podiatric career. As the no-nonsense host of Spike TV’s number one show, Bar Rescue, Jon will share his diverse and hands-on experience to help you think outside the box to re-energize your business strategies and reach your professional goals as well as provide tools to promote awareness of podiatry directly to patients and the public at large.
In addition to Jon Taffer, we are working diligently to secure a wide range of diverse topics to benefit you and your practice. We will host a practice management track that will include strategic insights on billing and coding, insurance updates and tips to effectively run your practice. There will definitely be something for everyone!
Also, there will be numerous networking events for you to partake in throughout the conference including a happy hour in the exhibit hall on Thursday and the President’s Reception on Friday. Attend the IPMA Annual Business Meeting and Lunch on Friday to get updates on IPMA initiatives and legislative issues that will have direct impact on your practice. The Business Meeting also presents our members the opportunity to vote for incoming IPMA representation for the 2020 year.
Don’t miss out on all that will be offered at this year’s IPMA Annual Meeting, October 24 – 26th. I look forward to seeing you there!
